Maharashtra Govt. to withdraw charges against Chandrababu Naidu

New Delhi/Mumbai, July 20 (ANI): The Maharashtra Government on Tuesday decided to withdraw all the charges against Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N Chandrababu Naidu and made arrangements for him and his supporters to fly back to Andhra Pradesh.

Official sources said the step is being taken following a proposal by the Maharashtra Law and Judiciary Ministry to move Naidu and his supporters out of Maharashtra.

Chandrababu Naidu has, however, refused to board the special chartered plane arranged by the Maharashtra Government.

Continuous shutdown hits tourism sector in Kashmir

Yousmarg (Jammu and Kashmir), July 20 (ANI): The continuous shutdown has adversely affected scores of poor pony owners in Yousmarg, a tourist spot in the valley.

These pony owners used to earn their livelihood by taking the tourists to the hills of Yousmarg.

But with the continuous demonstrations and curfews, there has been a decrease in the number of tourist inflow, which has affected tourism and allied trade.
Many pony owners believe that if the situation continues like this then they might have to sell off their ponies to support their families.

India reiterates commitment to help Afghanistan become stable, prosperous nation

Kabul, July 20 (ANI): India on Tuesday reiterated its commitment to ensure the stability, development and prosperity of Afghanistan and its people.

Addressing first-ever International Conference on Afghanistan in the presence of 69 other world leaders, Indian External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna said that New Delhi looks forward to working closely with Kabul and the international community in realizing these objectives.

Describing Afghanistan as being at a crucial stage in its contemporary history and a country facing an awesome challenge of ensuring long-term stability amidst a rehabilitation and reconstruction drive, Krishna said: “India is committed to the unity, integrity and independence of Afghanistan underpinned by democracy and cohesive pluralism and free from external interference. India has contributed to these goals through our Development Partnership, which is implemented entirely in accordance with the priorities of the Afghan Government and people.”
