
At least 15 people were injured in a stampede at New Delhi Railway station on Sunday afternoon, fire brigade officials said. The incident occurred on Platform 12-13 at the railway station at around 2:50 PM. "We received a call about a stampede at the railway station. Around 14-15 people were injured in the stampede. The incident was caused due to rush of passengers," they said.
A senior police official said there was huge rush of passengers on the platform and the Police Control Room had received a call about the stampede at the station. "There were a lot of people in the platform to catch the Bihar Sampark Kranti. There was huge rush.
Nothing of a sort of stampede took place. The train has left the station," Additional Deputy Commissioner (Railways) B S Gurjar said. "We rushed our people but found nothing," he said. The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) had said in a text message that police had reported to it about the stampede at the railway station in which "few people" were injured
