South Korea takes early lead vs. Greece

PORT ELIZABETH, South Africa(AP) Lee Jung-soo has scored in the seventh minute to give South Korea a 1-0 lead over Greece in their opening Group B match at the World Cup.

Ki Sung-yong’s free kick went over the Greek defenders at the near post, allowing an unmarked Lee to tap in and convert South Korea’s first chance on goal. Under sunny skies and at a 45,000-seat Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium that was only about two-thirds full, Greece had the first good scoring chance in the third minute when captain Georgios Karagounis’ corner found Vesileios Torosidis, who shot over the bar.
